CREATING CONNECTIONS IN THE ARTS



On May 17, Los Angeles will gather at Founders Metropolitan Community Church for the unveiling of the Steps to Liberation, a permanent rainbow arts installation created by artist and original rainbow flag co-creator Lynn Segerblom.

The event marks the global observance of the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT). The 2026 theme — “The Heart of Democracy” — which comes at a moment when visibility and solidarity remain essential acts of courage.
The unveiling will bring together artists, community leaders, and the public for reflection, conversation, and a shared moment of witness, as we launch Flag50.
Los Angeles LGBTQ+ Arts & Culture Coalition
A broad coalition of queer arts organizations, artists, culture bearers, and allied nonprofits has come together to form the Los Angeles LGBTQ+ Arts & Culture Coalition.
Representing dozens of artists and arts workers across the county, the Coalition is dedicated to amplifying LGBTQ+ creativity, protecting our communities, and ensuring that queer and trans arts thrive for generations to come.​
