CREATING CONNECTIONS IN THE ARTS

Blue Sky

On May 17, Los Angeles will gather at Founders Metropolitan Community Church for the unveiling of the Steps to Liberation, a permanent rainbow arts installation created by artist and original rainbow flag co-creator Lynn Segerblom.

The event marks the global observance of the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT). The 2026 theme — “The Heart of Democracy” — which comes at a moment when visibility and solidarity remain essential acts of courage.

The unveiling will bring together artists, community leaders, and the public for reflection, conversation, and a shared moment of witness, as we launch Flag50.
